The programs you develop to promote safe and life-boosting nutrition for all students deserve recognition. Here’s a handy checklist for writing professional press releases to get the word out and increase community participation.
Be Meaningful
- Identify programs that are new or useful to a wider audience
- Consider who you are reaching, and what action you wish them to take
Write Clearly
- Use simple, family-friendly language
- Speak directly to your audience (families, community, etc.)
Keep It Short
- 300–500 words max
Proofread
- Invite at least two other colleagues to proofread
- Check for spelling, grammar, and tone
