1 cup dry milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups butter
3 cups Creamy SunButter
1 cup applesauce
4 cups sugar
4 eggs, large
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
PREPARATION
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking soda, dry milk, and salt.
Blend in butter, SunButter, applesauce, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Portion with a #40 scoop onto cookie sheets. Flatten cookies and bake until lightly browned.
Bake time: 10 minutes at 350ºF in a conventional oven or 6 minutes at 300ºF in a convection oven.
*The chlorophyll in sunflower seeds may react with baking soda, causing the center of the cookies to turn a green color when cool. This is completely harmless! To help keep cookies from turning green, you can reduce baking soda by half, or a splash of lemon juice in the batter may also help.
